In November 2016 SDL released the latest version of the translation software SDL Trados Studio. The new version focuses on the areas of productivity, quality and customization.
New features include:
- Machine Translation (AdaptiveMT): AdaptiveMT is a machine translation engine that learns in real time and then adapts future translation suggestions to your style, contents and terminology.
- Translation memory technology upLIFT: With the help of the new upLIFT technology, new segments with no translation memory match can be translated faster.
- upLIFT Fragment Recall: upLIFT automatically searches for already translated segments to help translate new segments faster.
- upLIFT Fuzzy Repair: upLIFT, automatically examines and alters fuzzy matches by using existing translation memories, termbases or machine translations.
- AutoSuggest for Asian languages: AutoSuggest now also supports Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages.
- Filter customizations: Software users can now also apply cascading filters, search source and target languages and create custom previews using the API.
- Easy file preview: A preview of the file can be opened without having to open the actual document in the Editor.
- Merging segments: With Studio 2017 segments can be merged regardless of the structure of the original text, even across paragraph breaks.
- Drag and drop: Drag and drop a file into Studio 2017 or right click a file from Windows Explorer to open it.
- Language pairs: Language pairs can be reversed during the project creation. The most used language pairs can be saved for quick access for future projects.
- For existing customers SDL Trados Studio 2017 is available in the download section of their customer center.
